How the procedure works
Pre-operative consultation
Full ophthalmic examination, standardised photographs and a dry-eye assessment.
Anaesthetic assessment
Consultation with the anaesthetist.
The procedure
Incision within the natural eyelid crease. Skin and/or fat is removed as required. 30 to 60 minutes.
Post-operative follow-up
Stitches are removed and normal life resumes 7 to 10 days after surgery.

Frequently asked questions
The incision is made precisely within the natural crease of the eyelid. From a normal distance the scar is virtually invisible. It fades from red to pink and then disappears progressively over 3 to 6 months.
If the excess skin reduces the visual field (functional ptosis), partial cover by the French national health insurance (Sécurité sociale) may be granted, subject to prior approval.
Yes. Upper blepharoplasty can be carried out at the same time as a lower blepharoplasty, a brow lift or injectables. Your surgeon will advise you.
